To enrich employees’ extracurricular cultural life, strengthen team cohesion and collaboration, improve physical fitness, and showcase the company’s positive and upward-looking corporate image, the Zhongwei Chemical Fiber Spring Sports Meet opened at the company’s stadium on April 27. All athletes, referees, and staff gathered to jointly welcome this grand sporting event for those who strive and excel. The opening ceremony was presided over by Su Dongliang, Chairman of the Trade Union.
Hu Bo, Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Party Branch, delivered the opening address for this sports meet. He stated that the Spring Sports Meet is not only an important initiative to enhance employees’ physical fitness and enrich their extracurricular cultural life, but also an excellent platform for honing team collaboration skills and inspiring a spirit of striving and perseverance. Wang Jianli, Vice Chairman of the Qixian Trade Union, attended the event to extend his congratulations and deliver a speech. He emphasized that sport is not only a contest of strength and a test of intelligence, but also a true embodiment of unity and collaboration. He encouraged all athletes to uphold the sporting ethos of “friendship first, competition second,” fostering camaraderie through competition and finding joy in striving for excellence. He urged them to let their passion for sports inspire enthusiasm in their work, and expressed the hope that enterprises would take this sports meet as an opportunity to rally the workforce and inject fresh vitality into high-quality development.
The representatives of the referees and the athletes took their oaths in succession. The referee representative solemnly pledged to strictly abide by the competition rules, officiate impartially, and perform their duties with the utmost diligence; the athlete representative solemnly declared that they would compete with full enthusiasm, respect their opponents, obey the referees, and deliver both outstanding results and exemplary sportsmanship.
To the rousing strains of the athletes’ march, more than 230 participants competed fiercely in nine events, including basketball, billiards, relay races, and the 100-meter sprint. Each event unfolded in a tightly scheduled and smoothly coordinated manner, with athletes relentlessly chasing one another and striving to take the lead. The stands were alive with cheers and shouts of encouragement, creating an electrifying and jubilant atmosphere.
